In 1975, a newborn baby girl was found in the front archways of the ancient Church of S. Giovanni al Sepolcro. With no clue as to where she came from or who her mother or father were, the baby was immediately taken into the local orphanage with hopes that she would go to a loving home. The home, which was run by devout Catholic nuns, also had hired help to care for the 20 some odd kids that had no families. One woman, in particular saw a slight difference between the abandoned child and the rest. The more and more she cared for the infant, it was apparent that she wished to be her mother.
Alessa Ambrogio fawned over the baby night and day and somehow she felt tied to her, and for reasons that even Alessa couldn't understand. As a caretaker, she was trained to not become involved, and spent days crying over the future of Ziyah. Week after week, Alessa watched as the other babies and children were adopted, while the small baby remained overlooked. At one point it looked completely bleak and Alessa knew there was no chance for the child to ever be anything more than just another unwanted child. Over the period of the week, the young caretaker felt she could do right by Ziyah and headed to Reverand Mother to request the adoption. She was granted the baby but asked to leave with the child. Alessa agreed, and no sooner left the orphanage the very next day, Mother and baby trekked into the town in search of a home but ended up roaming Italy in search of a more permanent place to call home Realizing that Ziyah had not been properly named, Alessa read through her Bible for some inspiration and fell upon the name of Zion in Psalms 84. Alessa believed her new daughter was different, but not of the evil kind, and so opted for a more feminine twist on the biblical stories of Zion. Ziyah was then created and given to the tiny girl.
When it was painfully clear that there was no future in her birthplace, Alessa and Ziyah boarded a shipping vessel and arrived in New York City where Alessa's sister, Eliania housed them until mother and daughter could get on their feet. This however did not work out, and the two ended up staying with Eliana until Zee was 10.
During her schooldays, Ziyah often picked fights with boys who challenged her both on the playground and in the classroom. She fought hard and often walked away unscathed, but at 12 years old, she was detained in a juvenile detention centre for assualt. It was then that her aunt gave her the nickname 'Ali' after the great boxer, Muhammad Ali. Although, still holding a passion for 'kicking ass', Ziyah refused to get caught a second time and only defends herself now when she feels the need. Most times, she'll walk away with the last word.
At 15, Zee gained a passion for music and soon after, mixing drinks. Despite her being underage, most of the adults she served were in awe that a young girl could pick up the somewhat confusing task of bartending.
At 18, Zee thrusted herself into the nightlife that most commonly is associated with New York City. Working several jobs at any given time, she divided her nights between stripping and bartending and soon after, DJ'ing.
In 2001, Zee lost her mother to cancer, and fell out of touch with her aunt who then moved to Miami. She currently resides alone in a loft apartment in Manhattan.
Up until the year 2008, things were relatively calm and normal for Ziyah. Then by fate, she was murdered in her own home and then came back to life; finding that she was bred into a special kind of Immortality. Trying to accept this, as well as continue on normally, Zee made friends of every kind, but it wasn't until meeting one man that she found a special connection to him that allowed her to fly to Los Angeles to help him. Not wanting to leave right away, Zee began exploring the option of developing a nightclub, which is currently in the works.
Many a thing can define this Italian but to narrow things down, Ziyah enjoys cooking her mothers recipes for pasta dishes, hanging out with friends and keeping her head on (literally).
Zee's Worlds
Canon: After being murdered and having close friends explain the world she has just been made of, in this verse you will see Ziyah try to come to grips with her newfound Immortality. She continues to work full time while sorting out a myriad of changes in herself, both mentally and physically. In this world, she is determined to be the same strong woman inside and out, but has fallen several times due to the overwhelming task of accepting the world she's been thrusted into. In this verse, she has met and become close to Tommy Karras, a young man and budding illusionist that has also come to learn that he possesses a past that far extends into a lifetime before his own. Ziyah resides in New York but has found herself enjoying the city of LA and thus spends a great deal of time there, dividing her time between helping Tommy and developing her own nightclub.
AnythingGoes: Upon dying and being told of her Immortality, Ziyah deals with the changes and proceeds as she normally would if she was mortal. Still single, still working, still her own little crazy self, Zee finds herself in LA and embarks on opening a nightclub. In this verse, James literary_james lives with her while he figures things out in his life.
BloodRed: Delving into the world of immortality, Zee lives her life a little more on the darker side. This verse will contain ALOT of NC-17 material. You've been warned.
**Note**
While Ziyah mainly plays in her canon verse, there will be times where she will be using the anything goes and blood red verses. If prompts, RP's or posts or posts are made that is of the latter, it will be clearly marked and tagged accordingly. |
